How And How Much Should Glutathione Supplementation Be Used?

You can obtain glutathione in several ways. The first is to try to increase production by consuming precursors used in glutathione synthesis through diet.

Glutathione precursors are mostly found in:

  • apples,
  • broccoli,
  • asparagus,
  • garlic,
  • spinach,
  • and grapefruit.

Consuming one serving of any of the above foods daily is sufficient to support glutathione production.

Additionally, you can increase glutathione synthesis with supplements such as

  • selenium,
  • cysteine,
  • and alpha-lipoic acid, which are among the supplements that can help you in this regard.

Another method of supplementation is to take ready-made glutathione externally. There are several different types of supplements available for this purpose. One type is liposomal glutathione, which is absorbed through the intestines, but unfortunately, it is not available in our country. The other type is IV glutathione, which is administered intravenously, and is only available in a few places, including my clinic, in our country. Therefore, it is not easy to access glutathione therapy.
